Los Angeles, CA (August 18, 2010) – New R&B/Pop, Hip Hop, and Soul Recording Artist, Devin Kowl, breaks out with an upcoming four-track EP that is sure to gather the spotlight , self-titled “DEVIN KOWL”, — slated to hit the digital world on August 20, 2010 on CD Baby, iTunes, and other fine online retailers. This Virginia-native 15-year-old soul-singing sensation has co-wrote with songwriter Shauna Washington(aka Sara Mia), a renown songwriter for multi-platinum artists/producers such as P-Diddy, Timbaland, and Rodney Jerkins, and brought in producer and recording engineer, Britain Smith (aka MQuest – Mario, Foxy Brown, Rahim Devaughn) to touch and challenge popular music with his writing, vocal talents and strong stage performance. Inspired by Alicia Keys, Usher, and Mary Mary, his debut single “All Gone” exudes strength and determination in “being free from anything that holds you back and living your dreams” says, Kowl. “I want this EP to create an ageless and positive expression”. Devin Kowl was born on March 28, 1995 to Kevin Kowlessar and Alicia Barmore and raised in Woodbridge, VA along with his brother, Robert. He started his musical journey in the sixth grade choir at Mattaponi Elementary School in Maryland, where his teacher Mrs. Lawson was impressed with his singing abilities and selected Devin to sing a solo at his elementary graduation. The audience was immediately taken with the young singer’s precocious talent and was given a standing ovation. From that point, Devin’s life dramatically changed and he started to take steps towards living out his dream of making a career in the music industry.
Devin went on to refine his raw talent with vocal and musical training from the Oxendine Music and Drama Academy. He performed at the National Day of Prayer in Washington DC and was invited to participate in a four week acting camp with Pinnacle Actors Group in California. Founded by Lawrence Fogle; Producer, Director, Agent and Personal Manager to many leading actors and models for over forty years.
Devin recently performed for The Team NuVision Leadership Summit in Long Beach, CA in July, 2010 to over 2,000 enthusiastic attendees, who gave an overwhelming response for his performance to his debut single, “All Gone”. Devin Kowl will be playing throughout the late fall and early winter in various cities throughout Southern California.
