PREPS FOR DEBUT ALBUM RELEASE, SEMINARY SCHOOL AND RELOCATION TO ATLANTA

ATLANTA, GA (Monday, June 5, 2017) – – It was almost three years ago that Kelontae Gavin was “discovered” singing the gospel classic, “I Won’t Complain,” in his high school cafeteria that went viral and has earned almost a million views. Gavin made his national television debut performing the song on BET’s inspirational show Joyful Noise last year hosted by Two-Time GRAMMY winner Tye Tribbett. The 18 year-old rising Gospel star and MBE/Tyscot records recording artist has graduated last week from Summerville High in Summerville, South Carolina and will relocate to Atlanta, GA this summer.

“Many are called, but few are effective. I don’t just want to be successful, but I want to be effectful,” states, Kelontae Gavin. Kelontae is excited about his future plans which includes, pursuing a degree in Divinity and Theology and will serve as minister of music at Atlanta’s Ark of Salvation Church, under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Bronner.

In addition, Kelontae is in the post-production process and plans to release his debut live project, THE HIGHER EXPERIENCE (Marquis Boone Enterprises/Tyscot Records) this fall produced by Marquis Boone (Casey J, Bri) and TedyP (Bri, Micah Stampley) and features a special guest appearance from BET’S Sunday Best Season 7 winner Geoffrey Golden.

THE HIGHER EXPERIENCE boasts the project’s current radio single, “Higher,” which is produced by Grammy® Award winner Myron Butler and written by Gavin’s mother Priscilla Smalls. The inspiring, mid-tempo song of praise is making its way up Nielsen’s BDS Top 40 Gospel Airplay charts everywhere. The song anchors an EP that debuted in the Top 25 on Billboard’s Hot Single Sales Chart alongside music legends such as Kanye West, Alicia Keys and the cast of the Fox Television musical drama series “Empire.” The EP features four versions of “Higher” and a studio rendition of The Rev. Paul Jones’ composed hymn “I Won’t Complain.” It’s available for streaming and downloading at http://smarturl.it/v5dhpi.
